Tyrany

The word Tyranny means- "Cruel and an oppressive government or rule. Or A nation under such cruel and oppressive government."


The pigs are treating the others with unfair equality. They are making the animals do work all the time while the keep on breaking the rules and making it unfair for the rest. They force them to listen by making them fear Napoleon and The nine fierce dogs.

Compare & Contrast the treatment of the Jews and The Native Americans

The Jews were chased away from their homes. Forced to work for the rest of their lives until they died either from being killed,starvation, or work labor unless they were saved. The jews were treated like rags,the Nazis didn't care if they pleaded they were just left their to die. They were treated like stray dying dogs,that no one wanted to take off, dogs that were to sick and weak and were just left to die in the streets. To put it in simple words they were nothing to the Nazis.

The Native Americans were treated like invaders. Their homes were taken by the Expending colonies. The more we expanded the more were drove them farther away. The Native Americans tried to take their homes back. But they were simply chased off or even killed. We were the invaders of their homelands yet we treated 'them' as the invaders.

Becoming The Enemy

The pigs have obviously become the enemy themselves. They made the animals believe the humans were the enemy. But they had started to wear clothe,drink,and even sleep on beds like the humans.
Through out the story the pigs had turned more and more like the humans,doing everything likes the humans and breaking the 7 commandments by doing so.
And changing them by adding something new to make it seems that they haven't done anything wrong.
One Example- Napoleon had become 'drunk' and started to run around the farmhouse while 'wearing a hate' this shows that him and the rest of the pigs that follow him had turned into the enemy.

Striking Fear.

It is obvious that Napoleon is trying to strike fear. He forces the animals to follow his orders and threaten them to be executed by one of the dogs.
Napoleon uses the dogs to strike fear towards the farm animals so they would respect him in terror.
I agree with the quote- “He who strikes terror into others is himself in continual fear.” 
Napoleon strikes fears towards the animals, which means he himself is literally fear it's self.

Presidents of the 1910's

The U.S. president of the 1910's were Woodrow Wilson and William Taft.William Taft was president of the U.S. from  1909 to 1913.He retired from presidency and became the Chief Justice of the United States.

Toys in the 1950's

Toy companies were making supplies for World War 2. After the war,they had new ideas for dolls and games.They started to use plastic in toys.Toy companies were making toy trains,Silly Putty, and toy cars.Lego was also introduced in the 50's.Other toys that were invented were the Hula Hoop,Barbie and Ken,Etch-a-Sketch,and Slip'n Slide.

The Great War

The Great War took place in the 1910's.Also known as World War 1.Germany invaded France,Belgium and Luxembourg.The war started in August of 1914.The U.S. got involved in 1917.The war started when the Hungarians were being killed by Serbian terrorists.When Hungary declared war on Serbia,Russia joined because Serbia and Russia were friends.After that,more countries continued to join the war.The U.S. join because Germany sent a telegram to Mexico that said they will help get back Texas,New Mexico,and Arizona.We also went to war because Germany blew up an American cruise ship,killing 128 Americans. France,Russian,England, and The U.S. won the war.

Fashion's in the 1930's

The fashion's in the 1930's were very elegant and sophisticated.Men and women both wore hats for all occasions. Dresses were draped at the bottom.Women wore lace and corsets.Men wore suits with a matching top hat and over coat.

Inventions in the 1910's

   There were many new inventions in the 1910's.Many are very important till this day.The telephone and the traffic light was created.If we had no telephone,we could not communicate as well if we just wrote to each other.Other inventions created in the 1910's was the refrigerator.We could not preserve our food without one.The one invention I love the most is the zipper.You can get cozy in your coat with one.

Fashions of the 1910's

   Since the invention of the sewing machine in the mid-19th century,women's fashion industry has expanded.The trend was to wear loose and light clothing.Tennis and other sports helped this trend.In the earlier decades,women wore light clothes,corsets,padding and beautiful designs.
   Men's clothing did not change much.They took on the military look.They also liked to wear bowler hats.

New Book

Yay,I'm reading a new book called Animal Farm by George Orwell.I am up to chapter 5 since I read ahead.It's about farm animal wanting to chase out humans.Humans are there enemy.They succeed in doing so.Pigs are the leaders,like a president.The farm animals have created rules for their farm.

Americans during the Westward Expansion

Some similarities between the Jews and the Native Americans are they were both taken from where they lived.The Native Americans were constantly moved from their land and soon after their land was taken away from them.The Jews

Genocide

Many other genocides happened before,other than the Holocaust.One is the Armenian Genocide. Between 100,000 and 200,000 Armenians were killed in 1895 and many were forced to convert to Islam.Turkish government denied the genocide."History repeats itself" because people do not learn from their mistakes.Some might think that this might not happen again but it happens all the time.

Important People of the Holocaust

Adolf Hitler started World War 2.He was responsible for 60-70 million deaths.He allied with Italy and Japan.He built up the German military into a formidable force.Hitler blamed the Jews for the loss of World War 1.He killed Jews,homosexuals,gypsies,physically disabled,and the mentally disabled.

Night

So far in Night,Elie was whipped for seeing something he should not have seen.The buildings where the Nazis created weapons were bombed.No one died except an old man.SS soldiers inspected everyone and found prisoners with armed weapons.They were hanged.

Why Didn't the Prisoners Come Together to Escape?

The prisoners must have thought that there would be more people to help out and kill them.The Nazis have taken over many countries.Most would be their allies.If they stood by their selves and other countries started to help retrieve the prisoners,then the Nazis would have fallen.Or if the majority of the escaped,their family would be killed,plus they were very weak and skinny.

Is History really worth learning about?

I say yes,it is.If we know what happened in the past we can learn from their mistakes.It tells us how we can improve.If we did not know about what happened in the past,then we would make the same mistake of and over again instead of making new ones.
